Nutrition Overview

Bodybuilding diets push our understanding of nutrition's effect upon performance and physiology to it's limits. As a bodybuilder you‘re striving for more muscle and less fat, this means pushing beyond the boundaries of what is possible on a normal nutrition.
Be it a cutting diet, one for maximum strength or mass gain whole foods will form the basis of any successful high performance eating plan. We have known for years about the general properties of the macronutrients; proteins, carbohydrates and fats, and the micronutrients; the vitamins and minerals but nutritional science is still on a steep learning curve. Developments in research techniques and our understanding of the chemical components of foods have seen new thinking in many areas such as engineered proteins and carbs, specific fatty acids and the many phytochemicals found in plants.
Obviously with this emphasis on whole food nutrition as the key to health, growth and recovery MULTIPOWER has specifically designed the PROFESSIONAL range to fit around your carefully designed whole food diet, using tailored nutrition products to work in synergy with whole foods, driving energy and focus through training, speeding recovery and providing high quality formulas that safeguard and supplement your nutritional intake at other times.
Developments in performance nutrition
High performance bodybuilding nutrition has evolved much in the last 10 years and supplements have had to keep pace with the development in our understanding. At this point in time the emphasis is very much upon three aspects of the nutrition picture:
Physiology of nutrient partitioning
There are times when the body is set up to take on board more nutrients and put them where we want them, supporting lean mass and reducing fat mass. 'Nutrient partitioning' is the phenomenon where macronutrients consumed either get shuttled to lean mass or fat mass, by eating the right things at the right times we can take advantage of this phenomenon and maximise calorie intake and lean mass development whilst still staying lean.
We're now starting to understand more about the timing element and research suggests that the period just before and during training is just as important as that 'post workout window'. Ensuring a plentiful intake of the correct nutrients like hydrolysed proteins, amino acids, and engineered carbohydrates can have rapid and dramatic effects on physique and training quality.
We have designed products such as NOxtreme and MUSCLE EFFECT to exploit this process, delivering the right nutrients at the right time into the muscle for enhanced recovery and super compensation.
Ergogenic and anabolic compounds
Research on compounds that punch well above their weight in terms of producing enhancements in performance and recovery has been an exciting area of research. Using the right combination of these, ergogenic‘ compounds like beta alanine we‘re able to increase power output strength and fat oxidation.
Developments in areas like anabolic amino acids and specialised hydrolysed proteins and carbohydrates allow the bodybuilder to recovery more fully between training session without relying purely on more and more calories, packing on slabs of muscle whilst keeping fat mass low.
By combining such synergistic compounds in our NOxtreme or Amino Mega Shot we‘re driving nutrients into the muscle, supporting intense performance and muscle tissue recovery whilst protecting the existing muscle from the catabolic breakdown of tissue that intense training causes.
Behavioural aspects of nutrition
Good nutrition is a little different to good training, whilst it is easy to get excited and motivated for a training session staying on track diet wise is a little different. However, poor nutrition practices are some of the most significant issue across the whole of sport, and bodybuilding is no different. Getting the job done easily and consistently means enjoying both the whole food and structured supplement sides of your nutrition intake. MULTIPOWER have made maximum use of their in house R&D facilities, producing products such as high quality protein shake and bars that you‘ll actually look forward to consuming every day.
